Arc of the Emerald Coast celebrates Crestview police

Clients and staffers at The Arc of the Emerald Coast’s Crestview Adult Day Training Center take a moment with Wanda Hulion, Crestview Police Department community service officer.

CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Police Department now knows it has fans at The Arc of the Emerald Coast’s Crestview Adult Day Training Center.

Clients and staffers there held a Police Appreciation Day on Aug. 25, serving CPD officers pizza and sodas. In addition, clients presented a symbolic Survival Kit for Law Enforcement Officers.

The kit included these candies:

●Lifesavers: to remind CPD officers of the many times they’ve been one

●Smarties: to give them wisdom for split-second decisions.

●Hershey Kisses: to show love for them.

●Gum: to help everyone stick together.

●Tootsie Roll: to help them roll with the punches

●Peppermint Patty: to help them keep their cool

●Mounds: for the mounds of courage officers show

●Laffy Taffy: to remind them that laughter is an effective stress reliever

“This appreciation just barely demonstrates the true appreciation that The Arc of the Emerald Coast has for all local law enforcement that continues to protect and serve our community,” a spokesperson with the organization said.

The Arc provides support services for Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton County residents with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities.
