CRESTVIEW — North Okaloosa County schools are taking advantage of the summer vacation to spruce up facilities.
“We are constantly doing touch-ups of paint, minor repairs and façade improvements,” Crestview High School principal Dexter Day said. “Our facility may be a little older, but we do our best to make it look nice.”
Here’s what some local schools have done since students waved good-bye in June:
Antioch Elementary School: Freshened hallways with a new look.
Crestview High School: Added some student parking spaces; completed fundraising for baseball and softball field covered batting cage areas.
Laurel Hill School: Repainted the gym, redid locker room floors, put down new epoxy floors in some areas of the school.
Walker Elementary School: New laminate flooring in the office, new carpet in some areas, and another portable classroom in the “learning village.”
Northwood Arts and Science Academy: Created a new recess area.
