Davidson students complete computer certifications courses

CRESTVIEW — Davidson Middle school students who took Introduction to Information Technology, Web Design and  Internet and Computer Core Certification (IC3) courses completed their certifications the week of May 31.

Toni Toney has 33 students in her Introduction to Technology course; all of them received one or more certifications in Word, PowerPoint or Excel.

Toney has 19 students in her Web Design class; 14 of them received certifications as Site Development Associates.

Six students in her sixth-grade classes completed the Computer Fundamentals program, which was a new program to the school this year.

IT students who obtained all three — Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel — certifications included: Michael Aninos, Jasmine Bostick, Christopher Brown, Brooke Cato, Talon Clairmont, Travis Cruz, Jeremy Fenton, Chase Gillette, Benjamin Gross, Caleb Pecora-Hagen, Bradley Johnston, Dylan Keith, Emma Kolmetz, Jacie Martin, Logen Martin, Desi McQueen, Layla Overly, Kevin Pacheco, Kaneo Perry, Jakob Phillips, Molly Phillips, James Sharp, Halle Smith, Jenna Watts, Daniel Wellborn and Andrew Zito.

Molly Phillips and Daniel Wellborn received perfect scores of 1,000 on the PowerPoint exam.

Ian Rodriguez, Raquel Thomas, Tyler Mushel, Brennan DeMarsico, Michael Day, Melanie McCafferty and Jimelvin Rodriguez received one or two certifications.

 Site Development associates who joined DMS’s CIDub Club this year included: Austin Brannon, Henrique Canuto, Taylor Casker, Connor DeMarsico, Zuley Medina-Diaz, Steven Jamison, Madyson Jordan, Gabriel Polinsky, Rachel Riseden, Wesley Seitz, Carter Shackleford, Alana Taylor, Brooklyn Wilde and Abigail Woullard.

IC3 Computer Fundamentals certification recipients included Trace Carney, Wesley Carson, Layne Franks, Christian Taylor, Aubrey Tew and Jacob Walters.

The students were presented with certificates and T-shirts at a May 26 ceremony.
