Drivers receive serious injuries in June 2 crash (FILE)

CRESTVIEW — An 18-year-old Crestview resident and a 26-year-old DeFuniak Springs resident have serious injuries after a 6:55 a.m. June 2 crash in Walton County.

Brandon Scott, 18, was traveling south on State Road 285 when the accident occurred. According to a Florida Highway Patrol media release, he attempted to pass a tractor trailer, causing his vehicle "to travel north in the southbound lanes of State Road 285. The front left of (Scott's vehicle) collided with the front left of vehicle-2," a 2013 Chevy van.

Scott was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital. Damage to the 2015 Ford Focus he was driving is estimated at $13,000 according to the media release.

The driver of the van, Jonathan H. Adams, 26, of DeFuniak Springs, was taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center. Damage to the van is estimated at $12,000, according to the media release.
