CRESTVIEW — Authorities have contacted a person of interest in connection with sending a threatening email to the Okaloosa County School District, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
Earlier, the school district received a "serious threat via email," Superintendent Mary Beth Jackson said in a news release. "We are working with multiple law enforcement agencies on the matter. Due to the ongoing investigation, we cannot share further information.
"Deputies also conducted physical checks overnight at area schools as well. Along with our School Resource Officers, extra patrols are taking place at our schools today. The OCSO also coordinated with information with the Superintendent of Schools and School District to keep them abreast of developments."
