NWF Kids on Campus registration open, volunteers wanted

NICEVILLE — Registration for Kids on Campus at Northwest Florida State College is now underway for students entering third through eighth grades..

Two sessions are June 13-23 and July 11-21 at 100 College Blvd., Niceville.

Hosted by the Department of Professional & Continuing Education, the program offers a unique opportunity for summer enrichment and fun learning in a college environment.

Students choose from a variety of classes such as athletics, hands-on science, fine and performing arts, academics and art. They create their own schedule and can choose morning, afternoon, or all-day classes.

New classes include:

●Jr. Safety (in partnership with Public Safety)

●Spanish

●Freshwater Frenzy (in partnership with Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance)

●Finance/Adventures of the Piggy Bank

●Icing on the Cake

●Math

●All Kinds of Art!

The art session is July 25-29 at the Chautauqua Center in DeFuniak Springs, in partnership with the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation.

Extended care is available in the mornings and afternoons in Niceville.

Volunteer opportunities to earn community service hours are available for high school students entering grades 10-12. High school students escort camp students to and from their classes, assist teachers in the classrooms with activities, and more.

Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 8:30 a.m.-noon, or 12:30-3:30 p.m.
