Crestview woman to enter plea in child molestation case

Diara Pshown Lewis

CRESTVIEW — A Crestview woman charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old will enter a felony plea April 20, according to the Okaloosa Clerk of Court website.

A girl reported to authorities that Diara Pshown Lewis was babysitting her and her siblings last July, lying in bed and chatting with her boyfriend on the phone.

Lewis hung up, allegedly turned to the child and forced the girl to kiss her on the mouth. The girl said she didn’t want to kiss, and Lewis put her tongue into the girl’s mouth and touched the child inappropriately, according to the girl’s account in the arrest report.

The child bit Lewis on the arm so hard the skin came off, and went into the bathroom crying for her mom, according to the report.

Lewis accused the child of lying, and told authorities that she loved the children and wouldn’t harm them.

Judge Michael Flowers is scheduled to hear Lewis’ case, and a criminal jury trial is set for 8:30 a.m. June 13 in the Courthouse Annex Extension, according to the clerk of court website.
