BREAKING: Crestview shooting victims identified

The Crestview Police Department has identified the victims of a Jan. 23 shooting on Peoria Boulevard in Crestview.

CRESTVIEW — Next-of-kin notifications have been made to families of the three people who died in a Jan. 23 Peoria Boulevard shooting.

The deceased have been identified as 47-year-old, Kevin T. McGrath Sr. and 42-year-old, Shanna L. McGrath, who were identified as the husband and wife owners of the residence located at 179 Peoria Blvd., in Crestview, where the shootings occurred. Their bodies were discovered inside of the home when officers arrived on scene.

Also deceased is 22-year-old Elbert L. Merrick III of Milton, Florida, whose body was discovered outside the residence on the roadway of Peoria Boulevard.

The fourth party, who has been identified as 22-year-old, Jacob R. Langston, who is also resident at 179 Peoria Boulevard, is listed in stable condition. He received non-life threatening, gunshot wounds to his arm and shoulder.

The Crestview Police Department continues to investigate the details of this case and will be releasing additional information as it becomes available.

"Meanwhile, we encourage everyone to avoid speculation in this case, as there has been an abundance of false rumors circulating amongst social media about this case," a CPD spokesperson said in a media release.

"The Crestview Police Department will be the only source of information being released in this case and we encourage everyone to be patient as the investigation continues."
