3 dead, 1 injured in Crestview shooting

The Crestview Police Department is investigating a shooting that has resulted in three deaths and a fourth person seriously injured.

Officers were dispatched to the Peoria Drive area in the Sandy Ridge Subdivision shortly before 10:45 a.m. today, in reference to a shooting incident.

When Crestview Police Department officers, with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office's assistance, arrived on scene, there were three dead victims and one seriously injured person, all from apparent gunshot wounds.

"The Crestview Police Department wants to make it clear that there is no longer a safety concern to the public," a CPD spokesperson said in a media release.

Names of those involved are not being released at this time, due to informing next of kin, but will be later.

Crestview Police Chief Tony Taylor told the Northwest Florida Daily News that the body of one of the victims in this morning's Peoria Boulevard shooting was found lying in the street.

The person was a resident of the subdivision, Taylor said.
