CRESTVIEW — CHELCO wants to help its members or their dependents with college expenses, and will award three one-time scholarships of $1,000 in May.
Applicants — who must be a CHELCO member, spouse or dependent of a member, and must live on CHELCO lines — can apply at chelco.com, through the school’s guidance or admissions offices, or by visiting any CHELCO office location.
Graduating high school seniors, current college students and adults returning to college may apply.
Application deadline is March 15.
Judges from area colleges and universities will review applicants for academic excellence, participation in community and school activities, and individual need.
Select applicants will then be interviewed for the final step of the process.
CHELCO is a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative serving more than 47,000 accounts in Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes and Santa Rosa counties.
