CRESTVIEW — A Crestview man is charged with three counts of domestic violence-related aggravated assault with a weapon, domestic violence related battery, domestic violence related battery by strangulation and battery on a person 65 or older.
He also is charged with domestic violence-related child abuse without great harm, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, and resisting arrest — obstruction.
Mark Alan Dandridge Jr., 31, allegedly pulled a weapon on family members, choked one until she passed out, and shoved his 75-year-old grandmother to the floor after an argument over his desire to shoot a gun out the front door around 8 p.m. Saturday at a John King Road home.
He later fought with deputies called to the scene, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office report.
Deputies said Dandridge punched his 36-year-old sister in the mouth, grabbed her by the throat, and choked her until she became unconscious.
When she came to, she left and took two others to her grandmother’s Pinoak Court home. They locked themselves inside, but Dandridge followed and entered through the garage. Once in the house, he allegedly pushed a juvenile to the ground, along with his sister.
Dandridge then allegedly shoved his grandmother to the floor, raised his shirt and showed them all a firearm and threatened to shoot them.
He went outside, allegedly slashed a car's tires, and headed back to the John King Road home, where two responding Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies confronted him.
Dandridge allegedly fought, and struck one deputy in the ribs with his knees while kicking his legs.
They placed Dandridge in a patrol car. He was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview. Neither deputy was seriously injured.
