A Baker woman called 9-1-1 after spotting a man with what appeared to be a crow bar trying to get into her home early this morning.
The 52-year old resident on Etta Garrett Road says she woke up around 3:30 a.m. to the sound of someone banging on or kicking her front door. She says after heading towards the front door area, she grabbed her cell phone and looked up to see a man outside. She ran back to her bedroom and dialed 9-1-1.
Deputies and a K9 unit arrived to search and secure the house. The front door glass had been shattered with a piece of equipment. They found blood droplets throughout the home and out into the garage.
The intruder is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall, with close cut hair, a medium build, and a belly. He was wearing a white tank top and loose fitting dark colored shorts that extended past the knees.
The homeowner said it did not appear anything had been taken from the residence.
