CRESTVIEW – A 22-year-old Crestview woman was arrested after going on a cursing, kicking rampage at a local hospital. The incident began early in the morning of Nov. 21 when Crestview Police officers were called to North Okaloosa Medical Center to deal with a drunk woman causing a disturbance. When they arrived they found the woman lying on the ground in the parking lot near the Emergency Room entrance. She was yelling and screaming. Between curses, the woman told officers her mother had pushed her to the ground before driving away. Her mother, who was in a car at the end of the parking lot, returned to talk to officers, igniting another outburst of cussing and screaming. The older woman said her daughter told her to take her to the hospital because she was drunk. Once she was admitted and spoke to a doctor, she became angry over what the doctor told her, ripped out her IVs and started cursing the staff. She also pushed her mother. The older woman got into her car and started to drive away, but the daughter snatched at the passenger door handle and instead of letting go, held on and fell to the ground, the woman said. The mother drove to the end of the parking lot and waited for officers to arrive. Witnesses corroborated the older woman's story. The woman was charged with battery. On the trip to the jail she continued cursing and started kicking and banging her head against the divider. Her outburst was so violent, officers turned on their siren and lights to get her to jail before she hurt herself or damaged their cruiser. Her court date is Dec. 18.
