CRESTVIEW — A Crestview woman faces sentencing July 8 after pleading no contest to 10 counts of child neglect and being a principal to a third-degree murder.

Nicole Allen entered her plea Friday in connection with the murder of 2-year-old Logan Sherwin. She could spend 65 years in prison.

Crestview police arrested Allen and Logan’s father, Grant Sherwin, Dec. 29, 2011 on aggravated child abuse charges.

Logan died that day from brain injuries connected to a fractured skull. Allen had called 911 eight hours earlier from the residence she shared with Grant Sherwin.

Grant Sherwin — whose sentencing is May 29 — pleaded no contest Jan. 23 to one count of child abuse and 10 counts of child neglect. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
