Authorities identify pair involved in Crestview train accident

CRESTVIEW — Two people were walking on a train trestle that crosses Yellow River on Tuesday before they heard an oncoming train and a woman was hit, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities identified Mindy Raven Sabor, 22, and John Frank Sabor, 29, as the pair who crossed a no trespassing sign to walk on the trestle.

Mindy Sabor received serious injuries; John Sabor’s injuries were minor, an OCSO offense report said.

The train, with four locomotives and 58 freight cars, was traveling from Waycross, Ga., to New Orleans at the time of the incident, a CSX Corporation representative said.

The incident was reported at 1:54 p.m. Authorities responded at 2:07 p.m.
