53 arrested on domestic violence charges during four-week operation

CRESTVIEW — The Florida Sheriffs Task Force has announced the results of Operation Safe Families. The operation, conducted Oct. 13 through Nov. 9, resulted in 5,544 arrests statewide. It targeted individuals with outstanding warrants for domestic violence and writs of bodily attachments for non-support, which bring in individuals who haven't paid child support. Okaloosa County Sheriff Larry Ashley reported 53 probable cause arrests for domestic violence during that period, six warrants served for domestic violence and 21 writs for failure to pay child support.
