CRESTVIEW — When the weather turned cold, Brianna Fogarty's entrepreneurial spirit kicked into gear. So she opened a hot chocolate stand in her driveway on Wednesday afternoon.
"I just wanted to start a business," Brianna, 7, said. "Last year, with the Girl Scouts, we sold hot chocolate for cancer" research.
With support from her parents, Brendan and Tania Fogarty, Brianna was soon doing brisk business as kids playing outside in Foxwood Estates got word of the stand.
Even the neighborhood letter carrier,Ken Ray, bought a 75-cent cup of steaming rich cocoa with marshmallows — "They're peppermint marshmallows," Brianna clarified — when he cruised up with the afternoon mail delivery.
Brianna said she planned to use the profits from her stand to buy toys, and maybe a Christmas present for her little brother Sean, 5, a repeat customer.
