KISSIMMEE — The Baker School volleyball team beat Hilliard 25-8, 25-21 and 25-15 in the Class 1A state semifinals at the Silver Spur Arena on Friday.
The Gators play in their second state finals in the last three years at noon local time Saturday against Sneads.
Baker Coach Tomikko Parks said the Gators (23-3) came out playing Gator volleyball.
"The most important thing was to come out and play our game early and put the pressure on Hilliard," she said. "We played well. We came out and executed and did what we needed what to do."
Miranda Whatmough came up big at the net for the Gators slamming home eight kills. She also had two aces, two assists and nine digs.
Hana Wadsworth had five kills, three digs, two assists and an ace. Ashley Black had seven kills, one assists, one block and one dig. Lena Daoud had a team-best 18 assists and was tied for the team lead with 20 digs.
Jordan Linzy also had 30 digs to go along with four kills. Taylor Brunson had seven digs, six assists and one ace. Brittany Brunson had three kills and one assist.
Hartley Moate had five kills and three digs. And Alex Roy had eight digs.
