CRESTVIEW — James Jamone Jackson, 14, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on charges of attempted robbery with a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle, burglary of a conveyance and grand theft auto, William Eddins, state attorney for the First Judicial Circuit, announced.
Jackson, sentenced as an adult, received the minimum mandatory sentence from Circuit Judge Michael Flowers.
On May 31, 2012, Jackson approached the victim’s car with a firearm and demanded money from the driver. The driver pulled away and Jackson fired one round into the vehicle. The bullet struck a male passenger in the vehicle’s back seat. The passenger survived.
Crestview police investigated the case. Assistant State Attorney Kimberly Torres served as prosecutor.
