CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Police Department announced a memorial service for Lt. Kent Buckner has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday.

Buckner, known as "Bucky" to friends in the department and in the community, was found in his home shortly after 9:30 a.m. Nov. 25, "apparently deceased by his own hand," according to police spokesman Lt. Andrew Schneider.

Buckner's funeral will be at Central Baptist Church, 951 S. Ferdon Blvd.

His family has asked that instead of flowers, donors consider a donation in Lt. Buckner’s name to the Wounded Warrior Foundation, Schneider stated in a press release.
