Crestview seminar’s focus is on IRAs

CRESTVIEW — A seminar on individual retirement account planning mistakes, presented by Edward Jones’ north Crestview office, is on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Coach-N-Four Steak House.

The group discussion can help IRA investors begin retirement planning, financial adviser Yvonne Shanklin said.

"Whether retirement is down the road or around the corner, working toward your goals today can help you be better prepared," she said. "Some of the questions that I am frequently asked are about double taxation, what to do with company stock, ordinary income versus capital gains, annual contributions, and how to avoid the 50 percent penalty on (required minimum distributions).”

The firm presents monthly seminars on different financial topics, Shanklin said.

Dinner will be available; seating is limited. Contact the office, 682-2497, Shanklin,  yvonne.shanklin@edwardjones.com, or office administrator Marcia Fleming, marcia.fleming@edwardjones.com, to make a reservation.
