CRESTVIEW – A man who became so drunk he was thrown out of Helen Back Again has been charged with disorderly intoxication.
On Jan. 15 Crestview Police went to the restaurant after being told of a disturbance. A drunk man was being disruptive with several customers and at one point picked up a beer bottle by the neck as if to use it as a weapon.
The bar manager escorted the man outside, where he continued to argue and cause a disruption. When police arrived the man began to stagger away in a northerly direction, across the Shoal River bowling alley parking lot.
The officer caught the man as he was about to step out into traffic on Ferdon Boulevard. The man was unable to stand without help.
He told the officer he was walking to Fort Walton Beach, which was in the opposite direction, and said he'd just been released from the Okaloosa County Jail. The officer confirmed that was true.
His charge was a misdemeanor.
He will report to court on Feb. 12.
