Crestview woman arrested on armed robbery charges

CRESTVIEW — A Crestview woman is in custody without bond after two incidents Thursday night, one at Sonic Drive In, 1850 S. Ferdon Blvd., the other at Eglin Federal Credit Union, 1490 S. Ferdon Blvd.

Tynesha M. Lewis, 26, was arrested on charges of armed robbery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and armed burglary to an occupied conveyance.

Sonic Drive In employees contacted the Crestview Police Department just before midnight Thursday and said a suspect came in and held a knife at an employee's throat and demanded all their money.

As an officer arrived at the restaurant, the police received a call regarding a second robbery, which occurred by the ATM machine at Eglin Federal Credit Union, 1490 S. Ferdon Blvd., one block north of Sonic.

Multiple officers began canvassing the area meticulously and were able to locate a person matching the description of the suspect in the area.

Lewis was arrested by CPD officers, then transported to Okaloosa County Jail.
