Northwest Florida State College students enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs recently participated in Florida’s state-level SkillsUSA competition. NWF students took home six medals.
NWF had a clean sweep of medals in computer programming with Lori Jackson (Gold), of Florala, AL; Levi Wilke (Silver), of Mary Esther; and Nathan Mortimer (Bronze), of Freeport.
Rebecca Gestring (Valparaiso) won the Gold medal and Noelle Carvey (Crestview) won the Bronze medal in Dental Assisting. Grace Wells (Freeport) took the Gold medal in Early Childhood Education.
The SkillsUSA Championships is the showcase for the best career and technical students in the nation. Contests begin locally and continue through the state and national levels.
