CRESTVIEW — There will be no change in CHELCO’s board of trustees in 2014, a spokesperson with the electric distribution cooperative said.
Incumbents Gayle Hughes, District 8, and Jim Bishop, District 3, won the board's two contested seats. Ronnie Jones, who represents District 5, ran unopposed.
Members elected trustees through mail balloting.
CHELCO’s board has nine trustees; three of those seats are up for election each year. Next year, representatives for Districts 1, 7 and 9 will be elected.
Election results were announced during CHELCO’s recent annual meeting.
CEO Steve Rhodes said a strategic plan that management and the board developed in 2013 resulted in six incentives to make the cooperative even better.
To begin achieving these initiatives, the 2014 budget and work plan were developed.
CHELCO is now going to “work the plan,” Rhodes said.
The not-for-profit cooperative serves more than 45,000 accounts in Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes and Santa Rosa counties.
