Okaloosa County School District leaders have a plan to deal with the three days missed because of icy weather.
If approved by the School Board, the district will ask Florida Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart to waive all three days because students will have attended enough hours of class by the end of the school year to meet requirements, Deputy Superintendent Kaye McKinley said.
Under state law, students must get 900 hours of instruction a year to earn credit and for the district to get state funding, McKinley said.
Calculations Friday afternoon revealed the district had enough time already scheduled to make up the difference for all three days without making any calendar changes, McKinley said.
