CRESTVIEW — The historic Main Street district's newest business sells furnishings and décor and offers solutions for residents at wit's end over what to do with battered antique pieces.
In addition to cash-and-carry refurbished furniture and accessories with "shabby chic" and "coastal farmhouse" designs, Interior Motives owners Dixie and Donald Shaud offer special-order pieces and interior decorating services.
"We do any kind of work on any kind of budget," Dixie Shaud said of the business, which opened Tuesday. "This is our passion and we're glad to be here."
The company also manufactures a line of chalk paint, available in pastel hues, several shades of verdigris and neutral creams and tans. The paint is great for refinishing pieces, including glass and metal, in lieu of stripping, Dixie said.
With "beautiful on a budget" as their goal, "Making things beautiful is our mission," she said.
