Woman allegedly steals out of sympathy for friend

Peggy Sue Holm

CRESTVIEW — A 43-year-old Crestview woman — who was allegedly caught during a retail theft and told police that she did it because she felt sorry for a friend — has a July 8 court date.

Peggy Sue Holm entered Walmart on June 10 and picked up five items worth $91.64, according to the arrest report. She then put the items in her purse and exited the store, failing to pay for the items.

Holm told officers that she took the items because she was feeling sorry for a friend and didn't have the money to pay for them, the report said.
