CRESTVIEW — A young Crestview High School girls soccer team still has time to grow up before the District 1-4A tournament in January.
Bulldog Coach Carl Everitt remains focused on the tournament prize even as his team is experience some growing pains.
Everitt remained upbeat Tuesday after the Bulldogs lost to Fort Walton Beach 3-1.

“They showed a lot of heart today, which is good,” Everitt said. “We are still trying to work out midfield and settle some issues there.
“The punch line for us is the playoffs. As long as we can get together in time for the playoffs we will be fine.”
Torrie Greene, a Viking striker, struck three times scoring all of the Fort Walton Beach goals.
Greene’s first goal came late in the first half just when it looked as if the teams would go into the intermission in a scoreless tie. Her second goal, which turned out to be the game winner, came midway through the second half.
By the time Allison Ammons scored the only goal for the Bulldogs (1-4, 0-3) late in the second half Greene had struck for her third score of the night to put the match out of reach.
In the end Everitt said it was the size and experience of the Vikings that was the difference.
“We are very young and very small,” Everitt said. “And we seem to come up against giants all the time.”
