VPS region's lone airport reporting passenger increase

Northwest Florida Regional Airport, up 2 percent in passengers for the year, is the region's lone airport with an increase.

In April, the airport, also called VPS, served 123,969 passengers, a 5.5 percent increase over the previous year.

Due the increase, airlines recommend that passengers arrive at the airport at least one hour prior to their scheduled departure and 1.5 hours prior if they have excess luggage.
