CRESTVIEW — The Emerald Coast Association of Realtors dropped in on Bob Sikes Elementary School for a special delivery.

It was an $875 check to help the school purchase equipment and other needs for the school's physical education program.

“You just don’t know what this means to a school like ours,” PE teacher Kim Harrison said.

The association’s mission includes making a difference in the communities it serves, and helping schools have better resources seemed like the perfect fit to the group’s leadership.

“We wanted to find a way to invest in the future of our community. This combined with our desire to promote a healthy lifestyle for our area children, which led us to supporting elementary PE programs,” said Susan Rood, ECAR Community and Military Affairs Committee chair and ECAR board of directors member.

ECAR also donated a check to Wright Elementary in Fort Walton Beach. Wright students hope the funds could help purchase new playground equipment.
