FORT WALTON BEACH — Different night. Same result.
Same hero.
A few weeks after dishing out the game-winning assist in a 57-56 win over Fort Walton Beach, Rusty Moorer scored 21 points, including seven in the fourth quarter during a 5-for-6 spell from the charity stripe, to lead the Bulldogs to a 61-57 win at district rival Fort Walton Beach.
It was the fifth straight win for Crestview (6-3), which is 3-0 in District 1-7A play.
“Rusty Moorer was the difference, both with his free throws and his handling of our pressure,” FWB coach John Lavin said.
Andrew Adkins, who scored the game-winner against Fort Walton Beach on Nov. 25, added 14 points.
Jason Cooper and Israel Black led the Vikings, now 1-2 in the district, with 13 points each and Trevor Cochran added 12 points.
