CRESTVIEW — Author Peter Casula Jr.'s new book, "Simple Portfolio Strategies," covers a practical and strategic approach to effective investment, from the viewpoint of someone outside of the financial industry.
Its abridged presentation makes it understandable to ordinary people with no former training or exposure to financial education, he said.
"The ability to foresee and reduce volatility exposure during the trading year is critical to mitigating huge losses in your portfolio," Casula said. "A simple buy-and-hold strategy is not enough for you to sit there on the sidelines and let the volatility of the economy and the market dictate your plan; you must take action."
He shares his personal checklist of economic and stock market indicators to assess short-term, intermediate and long-term trends.
"The investor needs to diagnose the potential risks and rewards from each of the model portfolios," Casula said. "In doing so, the investor can choose the model portfolio that fits the current or future trend in the economy and the stock market."
The book is available in soft cover and e-book format from Xlibris.com, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
