Woman accused of child abuse in drunken argument

Kristina Lynn Bell

CRESTVIEW — A 38-year-old Crestview woman is accused of hitting a minor in the face while “highly intoxicated.”

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home Oct. 1 for a battery, according to the arrest report. The victim said that when he arrived after school, Kristina Lynn Bell was “highly intoxicated and was yelling and screaming.”

The victim said he tried to get Bell to calm down and stop drinking and she began to hit his face and back, according to the report. A juvenile witness corroborated the youth’s statement.

When deputies located Bell, she was “passed out in her bed and appeared to be highly intoxicated,” according to the report. She said she didn’t remember any fight or argument that day.

The victim had redness to his cheek and back, consistent with being punched, the report said.

Bell is charged with child abuse without great bodily harm. Her next scheduled court date is Nov. 4.
