CRESTVIEW — Rocky Bayou Senior Beta Club members modeled their national motto, "Let Us Lead by Serving Others," as they conducted a Dec. 13 baked goods event for first responders.

They distributed tins of homemade cookies to the police and fire departments of Crestview, Niceville, Valparaiso, Shalimar and Destin, a spokesperson said. It was just a small "thank you" in appreciation of the responders' service and dedication.

The club's 2014-2015 officers are President Trever Knie, Vice President Laura Hudson, Secretary James Sung, Chaplain Josh Birdsong, Treasurer Ian Kampert and Historian Shannon Barkman, with club sponsor Cathy-Anna Lee.

Rocky Bayou Christian Academy is Rocky Bayou Christian School's secondary department.
