During the national Click It or Ticket campaign, Crestview Police Department officers issued 153 seatbelt tickets.
The top officers by productivity were:
• Aux. Lt. John Denny: 74 citations
• Officer Jay Seals: 26 citations
• Cpl. Pierre Batiste: 15 citations
During the campaign, Crestview experienced an approximate 35 percent reduction in the number of traffic crashes compared to the same time period during prior months, an event spokesperson said.
Three of the 22 traffic crashes occurring during this campaign involved injuries, but none were serious.
"This only goes to show that high-visibility traffic enforcement is effective," Sgt. Brian C. Muhlbach said in a statement.
