Garrett Scott Teal, 21, of Crestview, is charged with obscene communication-using a computer to seduce or lure a child.The Walton County Sheriff's Office arrested him Sept. 6.
The WCSO started an undercover investigation in May 2014, using a smartphone application to target individuals soliciting minors to engage in sexual activity.
On May 6, an investigator posted a message titled “Bored young female….” On the same day, Teal replied to the post by sending a private message.
Teal knew he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl, according to the WCSO, which said he knowingly solicited the minor to engage in sexual activity.
Judge David Green ordered Teal to have no contact with minors.
