CRESTVIEW — The Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County is urging parents and guardians to prepare students for starting or returning to school by reviewing immunization records and getting required vaccinations now.
To comply with immunization requirements, parents and guardians of students going into kindergarten and seventh grade should arrange immunizations now to avoid delays and prepare their children for the first day of class.
DOH has limited staff due to funding reductions. Therefore, there will be no extended or special hours of operation for back-to-school immunizations. There is no charge for required immunizations for children up to 18 years of age.
Walk-in services are available at the DOH-Okaloosa Immunization Clinics.
Crestview clinic hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays, except for 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The address is 810 James Lee Blvd. E.
Fort Walton Beach clinic hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, with no vaccine administered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. The clinic is closed third Tuesdays until 1 p.m. The address is 221 Hospital Drive, N.E.
