CRESTVIEW — Aaliyah Riley can't pick just one thing she loves about basketball.
"My favorite thing about basketball is everything," said the 10-year-old, who demonstrated her skills Tuesday at Crestview High School's gym.
Eighteen boys and girls kicked off their summer with Coach Kathy Combest for some on-the-court training the first day of the Crestview High School Youth Basketball Camp.
“It’s awesome,” Aaliyah said, of lessons learned from Combest. “She talked defense and how to guard someone."

Isabella Parker, 9, also appreciated the camp.
“I learned how to do a layup and make a pass,” she said. "I want to be a Crestview Bulldog and play for Coach Combest one day.”
Combest and several of her players taught the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting and, of course with Combest, defense.
“It’s been really fun,” Combest said. “They have great attitudes. We are teaching them some skills. The art of dribbling has gone away.
“I really concentrated on the dribbling, pass and layup (Tuesday). (Wednesday was) more shooting and offensive moves, but I really wanted them to see how important dribbling and passing is.”
