CRESTVIEW — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two Crestview area teenagers on burglary charges.
Ethan Mathews Smith, 15, of Jett Drive, Crestview, and Travis Bretton, 16, of Jefferyscot Drive, Crestview, are charged with three counts of armed burglary, three counts of possession of burglary tools, one count of loitering or prowling, and one count of unarmed burglary to a conveyance.
A deputy tracked down two teenage burglary suspects early Saturday after getting reports of “suspicious persons” spotted around houses and hiding behind columns in the area of Ridge Lake Road near Crestview. He said he saw two juveniles carrying bags filled with items ranging from knives and cash to cameras, .22 caliber ammunition, and ice cream.
One of the teens admitted the pair had been burglarizing cars. While canvassing the area, deputies learned of numerous vehicle break-ins, including an ice cream truck.
