2 Holt residents accused of burglary, theft

Travis Monroe Adams and Myra Ellen King

HOLT — Two Holt residents have been charged with burglary and two thefts in the Laurel Hill area.

Investigators say 25-year-old Travis Monroe Adams and 21-year-old Myra Ellen King first went to a home on North State Road 85 around 3:45 p.m. July 13 and stole two flat-screen televisions. The pair took the TVs to another home in Laurel Hill and placed them on the back porch.

Approximately two hours later, deputies say Adams and King were in a blue Chevy Avalanche heading north in Laurel Hill and stopped in front of another home on North State Road 85.

They entered the gated front yard and removed a brown pit bull named “Harly” and put him in the cab of the truck, deputies said. The owner used social media to help publicize the theft to get back her dog.

Officers with the Crestview Police Department spotted the suspect's vehicle July 14 at a Crestview convenience store and OCSO investigators arrived.

Adams and King were charged with burglary and two counts of theft.

The stolen televisions and pet were returned to their owners.
