Crestview woman charged with car theft, burglary

CRESTVIEW — A Crestview woman is charged with car theft, possession of a controlled substance, burglary and theft.

The owner of a green Nissan Sentra — who reported the car was stolen last week — said the car was taken from outside her home on Pocahontas Drive in Fort Walton Beach. It had been parked with a key in the ignition and doors unlocked.

On Feb. 24, a car burglary was reported at 5841 White Oak Drive in Crestview. A credit card taken in that car burglary was then used two separate times at the McDonald’s on North Ferdon Boulevard.

Video at the restaurant showed the female driver who used the card was driving a green Nissan Sentra.

OCSO Sgt. Micah Redmon spotted a car matching that description at the Exxon gas station on North Ferdon and made contact with the female, later identified as Wendy Posey, 30, of First Avenue in Crestview.

Posey said the car was stolen and that items found inside it were taken during several car burglaries she’d committed the night before, an OCSO news release stated.

In addition, deputies say Posey had a red wallet in her possession that contained a syringe with methamphetamine inside.
