OCSO: Intoxicated Holt man arrested after disrupting church service

MILLIGAN — A Holt man faces charges after allgedly entering First Assembly of God and yelling profanities before attempting to walk down State Road 4.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputy attending the April 29 church service was concerned for the safety of Michael Holman, who smelled of alcohol and was having trouble keeping his balance as he walked toward the road, according to an OCSO news release.

However, when he attempted to make contact with Holman, the 44-year-old became aggressive and would not remove his hands from his pockets.

He then threatened to take the deputy’s firearm and kill him and lunged toward the officer, according to the OCSO.

Holman is charged with disorderly intoxication and threatening a public servant.
