CRESTVIEW — The 15th annual Triple B Barbecue Cook Off will be held Saturday in downtown Crestview.
The event had been held at the Old Spanish Trail Fair Grounds in the past few years, but this year it returns to Main Street.
”Downtown Crestview is perfect for this event,” Main Street Executive Director Sandra Wilson said.
The event, hosted by the Main Street Crestview Association, will feature over 80 vendors, live music, a dunking booth and the barbecue cook off. It kicks off at 10 a.m. and will last until 6 p.m.
The cook-off begins at 11 a.m. Currently, there are six competitors signed up. This year, the community will have a chance to decide which barbecue is the best.
The people’s choice category will allow citizens who purchase a ticket to sample each of the entries and choose their favorite.
“The people’s choice is completely neutral,” Wilson said. “No one will know who they are picking.”
The winner of the cook off will be announced Saturday evening.
During the event, there will be live music from three different acts. Bryan Bludworth, Chauncy Crandall and Jordan Ballentyne will all perform on the live-music stage.
The event will have plenty of vendors, including boutiques, jewelry, lemonade and food. There will also be some nonprofit organizations with booths at the event.
Healing Hoof Steps and Kindred Spirits Therapy Minis will have a photo booth set up for everyone to take pictures with miniature horses.
“History has shown that this event is one the public likes,” said Wilson. “We are lucky that people love these events.”
