Okaloosa artists wanted for juried show

SHALIMAR — Okaloosa Public Arts seeks artists to participate in a juried art show, "Inspired by Art."

Part of the third annual Okaloosa County Administration Building Exhibition, the show includes a reception and awards presentation from 3-4 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Okaloosa County Administration Building, 325 Eglin Parkway, Shalimar.

The deadline to enter is Sept. 25, and the OPA will send notifications of acceptance by Oct. 2.

The dates and times to deliver artwork for the show are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 5 and 6 at the Okaloosa administration building. Artists may pick up last year's submissions on Oct. 5.

Artwork accepted for this year's exhibit will be on display from Oct. 12 through October 2018 at the administration building.

The contest is open to all living artists age 18 or older. The entry fee is $35, and artists may submit up to three works. They must be framed or 1 ¾-inch gallery wrapped (with edges finished); wired and ready to hang (no saw-tooth hangers).

Work must be no larger than 36 inches by 60 inches and no smaller than 16 inches by 20 inches framed.

Entries must be original and entirely the work of the artist. Bas-relief or other wall-mounted or free- standing sculptures are not eligible.
