CRESTVIEW — Habitat for Humanity has scheduled its next home dedication ceremony in Okaloosa County.
The board of directors, volunteers and staff will welcome the Cruz family into their new home, located at 582. S. Savage St., Crestview, in a ceremony set Friday, June 2 at 3 p.m.
After performing more than the required 300 hours of sweat equity, the Cruzes are ready to realize the dream of home ownership.
Gulf Power was the main sponsor for this home, and representatives will be on hand to present their donation and celebrate as the keys are handed over.
More than 450 volunteers worked more than 2,100 hours to build this home with Ms. Cruz and her family, creating the opportunity for her to gain strength, stability and self-reliance as she purchases her safe and affordable home with a no-interest loan.
A presentation will be given to State Rep. Mel Ponder for his efforts in helping continue the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program, which allows local companies to help end poverty by collaborating with Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa County to build affordable homes.
