CRESTVIEW — Okaloosa County ranks among the top areas for credit card rewards, according to a new SmartAsset study.
Methodology
"Our study aims to find the places where people earn the most rewards on cash back credit cards," a SmartAsset news release states. "To find these places we looked at consumer spending habits across several categories, including groceries, gas, and restaurants."
SmartAsset's proprietary credit card valuation model calculates the top three credit cards and the total cash back rewards earned for each credit card, for each county, based on spending within each category.
"We take the average rewards value of the top three cards for each county," the release states. "We ranked the cities on each of the categories and then indexed each category."
