Bicyclist injured in Crestview vehicle accident

CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Police Department is investigating an accident involving a bicyclist and a motorist that occurred at approximately 7:11 a.m. in front of the Wendy's restaurant on State Road 85 in Crestview.

Domonic Henry, 51, of Crestview, driving a 2012 Lexus, allegedly hit Jalynn Campbell, 20, a worker at a Crestview hotel, as she attempted to ride her bicycle across the road.

Campbell had reached the northbound lanes when the accident occurred. Emergency crews transported her to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, and is in stable condition, according to a CPD media release.

Police closed northbound lanes and rerouted traffic into the inside southbound lane. They restricted southbound traffic to the outside lane.

The scene was cleared at 10:05 a.m.

No charges were filed in the incident, which is still under investigation.
